Remember those idyllic childhood holidays when you could cycle along safe country laves and hardly meet a car… when you could search for crabs in rock pools in deserted inlets along rivers and seashore… when you could stroll across fields speckled with wild daisies and through woods bristling with bluebells... ?
You can do all that and more when you take a self-catering holiday in a Lawrenny Farm Cottage in West Wales.
Our guests are welcome to wander through the woods and fields of both Tedion and Vallen, as well as neighbouring Little Pen Coed Farm. Organic farming methods mean that wild flowers and wildlife thrive in this stunning part of Pembrokeshire.
Tedion is very much a working farm—300 acres of organic fields provide pasture for their dairy herd, which troops into the yard and milking parlour twice a day. Their coming and going marks the start and end of each day—part of the gentle rhythm of the countryside.
Kath and her daughters are also keen horsewomen so you are sure to be welcomed by a soft whinny and a gentle nuzzle from one of their ponies, whether in a field or in a barn, depending on time of year.

Vallen is more a hobby farm—rare black and white sheep, pygmy goats, alpacas, chickens and Welsh Mountain ponies have a wonderful life as field pets. Even Beth the sheepdog has a pampered life. She’s useless at shepherding but adores children and spends hours chasing balls and accepting cuddles. (Probably the best entertainment for Vallen visitors is watching Brian & Maureen run around after the sheep while Beth watches them—but they try not to do that too often!)
