Peter and Kath Elliot and their daughters lived in Tedion Cottage before moving into the adjoining farmhouse. It retains and warmth and welcome of a real family home, treasured by all who have holidayed there over the years.
The traditional range in the kitchen keeps the cottage snug, even when the oil-fired central heating is off. Most families find they spend most of their time in here. Lots of space and a large farmhouse table make it the natural place to congregate and chat. Somehow cooking ceases to be a chore when conversation flows.
The comfy sitting room has an open fire and French doors that open onto a pretty lawned garden stretching down to the farmyard and dairy.
Upstairs, two bedrooms sleep up to 6 people. The spacious ‘kids’ room’ has three single beds. The master bedroom is huge, with a double bed and a cot bed. With sunlight streaming in all day through windows on two sides, one can only be grateful that Kath resisted advice to partition this lovely room into two small rooms.
Outside, there is garden on three sides so you can follow the sun as it tracks from front to back. Patio and BBQ to the side provide a nicely private al fresco dining area. An enclosed garden to the back, complete with playhouse, means kids can play outside in full view of those in the kitchen.
All in all, Tedion Cottage is a wonderful home to holiday in!
